The anti-terrorism section of the judicial police and the gendarmerie made twelve arrests in Corsica on Tuesday morning in an investigation by the National Anti-terrorism Prosecutor's Office on a shooting against a gendarmerie last July.

These 12 arrests took place in the two departments of the island, said a source close to the file, confirming information from

Corse-Matin

.

They are part of the investigation into a gunfire perpetrated on the night of July 13 to 14 against the headquarters of the Haute-Corse gendarmerie group in the Montesoro district of Bastia.

This firing was then claimed on July 14 by a commando of four armed and hooded men claiming to be from the Corsican National Liberation Front (FLNC) which had burst in during a “patriotic” Corsican rally at the Saint-Antoine-de-Convent. Casabianca in Haute-Corse.

The anti-terrorism prosecution had been seized after this demand.
