France's Caroline Garcia is ending her season with a foot injury, she announced on Twitter on Tuesday.

"Consultation and medical intervention this morning. Now it's time for rest and recovery to treat my foot. We meet for the 2021 season," she wrote on the social network, above a photo where she appears with crutches.

The 45th world was eliminated Sunday in the round of 16 at Roland Garros, stopped by world No.5 Elina Svitolina 6-1, 6-3 in just over an hour.

It was Garcia's first round of 16 Grand Slam in over two years.

The 26-year-old Frenchwoman was aiming for her second quarter-final at Roland Garros, three years after her only Grand Slam achievement, already on Parisian clay.
