The Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, 14th in the world, qualified for his first Grand Slam semi-final at Roland Garros after a marathon match against world No. 3 Dominic Thiem, won in five sets 7-6 ( 7/1), 5-7, 6-7 (6/8), 7-6 (7/5), 6-2 and more than five hours, Tuesday.

Schwartzman (28) will face Rafael Nadal, twelve times winner of the Parisian Grand Slam, or the young Italian Jannik Sinner (75th) for a place in the final.

Double finalist out of Roland Garros and recent winner of the US Open, Thiem went three times two points from the match at the end of the fourth round before cracking.
