His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, accompanied by the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabi Ashkenazi, visited the memorial to the victims of Jews in Europe, known as the Holocaust Memorial, and the accompanying museum located in the German capital Berlin.

His Highness and the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs were also accompanied, during the visit, by German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.

During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan viewed the memorial, which was established in 2005, near the Brandenburg Gate, and commemorates the six million Jews who were assassinated during the Nazi era.

His Highness toured the monument, which consists of 2710 concrete columns, built on an area of ​​19 thousand square meters, in the form of a maze, so that visitors can walk between those columns and inspect the visitors' center under the memorial documenting the crimes of the Nazi regime.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the establishment of the memorial in the friendly Federal Republic of Germany, stressing that this historical place carries important indications that emphasize the importance of consolidating the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of the other in the whole world without discrimination.

His Highness also affirmed that the UAE, since its inception, has been keen to adopt and consolidate the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence, love and acceptance of others, based on its deep belief that these values ​​are essential pillars for achieving prosperity, growth, development and sustainable development in societies.

His Highness paid tribute to the souls of the victims who were immortalized in this memorial, expressing sympathy with them and their families.

His Highness also affirmed that this matter, which resulted in the fall of millions of innocent people, will not be repeated again, noting that the UAE has always had a message of peace, tolerance and hope for the whole world.

His Highness was accompanied during the visit by the country's ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Hafsa Abdullah Al-Olama, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Cultural Affairs, Omar Saif Ghobash.
