Winter is uncertain for many trade fair and market organizers due to the current corona pandemic.

In September, for example, the decision was made to cancel many well-known castle fairs in the country, including the one at Kalmar Castle.

But in order to still benefit local food producers, the County Administrative Board of Kalmar County now chooses to organize a Christmas food round.

Food round for Advent

The Christmas food round is planned to take place on the first two Saturdays in December, on the first and second Advent.

The food round extends over the entire oblong county of Kalmar.

Similar rounds have been arranged in other places in the country, including Kronoberg.

How can the Christmas food round be corona-adapted?

- Of course, everything must be carried out in a corona-safe way and it is every entrepreneur's responsibility to ensure that it happens.

Now they are very used to it, those who have farm shops, says Anna Carin Pålsson, project manager at the county administrative board's development unit.

Anna Carin Pålsson explains that the entrepreneurs have worked corona-safe all summer and that they therefore know what applies to keeping their distance and the like.

It is suggested that producers may also organize outdoor activities to reduce congestion.
