She pointed out that the ministry provided the fishermen with environmentally friendly engines with lower carbon emissions, at half the value of the cost, and priority was given to distributing this support to fishermen full of the fishing profession who practice the profession on their own boats or on their behalf, in order to encourage them to work in the fishing profession and pass it on to future generations. .

Last year, the ministry delivered 400 "Mercury" powered marine engines to fishermen through the fishing boat registration centers in all the emirates of the country, provided that this support is due to fishermen every three years, which guarantees greater benefit. The head of the fisheries department said: “Pollution of the marine environment represents a threat to fish resources, especially the activities of extracting and transporting petroleum materials. The Ministry is working to limit its effects on ecosystems by developing a program to monitor and control sources of oil pollution that enables responding to emergency situations and swift dealing with Oil spills, determining responsibilities and taking legal measures against ships that cause pollution.

She added: “We are working on developing a national plan to respond to oil pollution incidents in coordination with the relevant authorities, aiming to develop mechanisms and procedures by which the response to oil pollution incidents is coordinated when they occur, assess their near and long-term environmental impacts, and prepare for them before their occurrence through the establishment of databases of capabilities. "Physical and human nature, and defining the roles and tasks of the partners, determining the sensitivity of marine and coastal areas and their ecological characteristics, and developing guidelines for operations to address their pollution and remove pollution from them.
