Raid intervention for a madman who threatened to explode a building

The police from the Raid de Montpellier branch intervened to arrest a man on Saturday afternoon in Sète.

He is said to have shouted "Allah akbar" before taking refuge in his home armed with a knife and threatening to blow up his building.

The Bac and departmental security police quickly evacuated residents and created a security perimeter around the building.

Unknown motivations

The madman finally surrendered without violence at the end of the negotiations with the police.
