The threat had been hovering over Paris and its inner suburbs for several days.

Faced with the

rebound of the coronavirus epidemic

, the Ministry of the Interior has put an end to the false suspense.

He told AFP on Sunday that the capital and the departments of Hauts-de-Seine (92), Seine-Saint-Denis (93) and Val-de-Marne (94), pass into the zone of maximum vigilance.

The circulation of the epidemic is such that Matignon has decided that “

binding measures

” will be taken and announced Monday, October 5 at 11:30 am by Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris.

They will take effect from Tuesday, October 6, for a period of 15 days.

Restaurants will be able to remain open with a reinforced health protocol

Until then forced to close, restaurants located in the maximum alert zone will be able to remain open, but by applying a reinforced health protocol, specifies the Ministry of the Interior.

The measure therefore also applies to establishments in Marseille, which will be able to reopen from Monday.

“

The government has received the opinion of the High Council of Public Health concerning the opening of restaurants.

A reinforced health protocol applicable in high alert areas as well as in high alert areas will be put in place and will keep the restaurants open,

 ”says Matignon.

The terms of this protocol will be detailed on Monday by the competent ministers.

Cafes, on the other hand, could remain closed in the Marseille city, and close their doors in the capital.

Classrooms or lecture halls in universities, conducive to the spread of the coronavirus, can only be filled to 50% of their maximum capacity.

In addition, the government indicates that teleworking is “

more than ever

” privileged to prevent the circulation of the virus.

Sunday October 4, France recorded 12,500 new contaminations, less than the daily record of 17,000 contaminations recorded the day before.

More than 1,300 people are in intensive care (103 more in 24 hours).

Since the start of the health crisis, 32,230 people have succumbed to Covid-19 (32 more in 24 hours).
