Paris and its inner suburbs will switch to the maximum alert zone and await new restrictions unveiled on Monday, Matignon announced to AFP on Sunday, specifying that restaurants will be able to remain open with a reinforced health protocol despite the resurgence of the epidemic of coronavirus.

These "binding measures", which will last 15 days and will hit the capital and its three neighboring departments, will be detailed during a press conference at 11:30 am by the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo.

They will come into force on Tuesday and could in particular lead to the closure of cafes, as is already the case in the metropolis of Aix-Marseille or in Guadeloupe.

The restaurateurs, for their part, obtained a suspension: "a reinforced health protocol applicable in high alert areas as well as in high alert areas will be put in place and will keep restaurants open," said Matignon.

The terms of this protocol will be detailed Monday by the competent ministers, the same source added.

This measure should thus allow the reopening of Marseille establishments, against a backdrop of mobilization of the profession.

Matignon also announced that university halls or amphitheatres could only be filled to 50% of their capacity at most in enhanced and maximum alert zones.

This measure, which applies more generally to all higher education institutions, will come into force from Tuesday and will be specified Monday morning by the minister in charge Frédérique Vidal.

In addition, and still to cope with an increase in the circulation of Covid-19, telework is "more than ever" privileged in these same areas, the government recalled, while the Minister of Labor Elisabeth Borne will receive the partners on Monday morning. social.
