A team of investigators from the harbor master's offices, the carabinieri and the police "are in contact with the French authorities to give a name and a face" to the bodies washed up on the shores of the Italian Riviera, not far from the French coast, said Ansa, adding that the Ligurian authorities have not reported any missing so far.

A fifth body recovered in the Roya River would be that of a shepherd missing near the Col de Tende and whose nationality, French or Italian, did not seem formally established.
