The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Umm Al Quwain Police, Colonel Saeed Obaid Bin Aran, said that the General Command of Umm Al Quwain Police launched a smart vehicle reservation system for vehicle owners whose vehicles resulted in traffic violations that deserve seizure.

He explained to “Emirates Today” that installing the smart device on the reserved vehicle is the responsibility of the vehicle’s owner. In the event of damage, sabotage, or tampering with the device, the vehicle’s owner will be fined 650 dirhams, paid to the company in charge of installing it.

He stated that the vehicle owner has the choice between reserving the vehicle in the reservation yard of the Umm Al Quwain Police General Command or requesting to reserve it at home, but on the condition that it is not moved from its location from the time the home smart reservation system starts until the end of the prescribed period.

He pointed out that when the designated device is installed in the vehicle, its owner will be given time until 12 o'clock in the morning of the next day to stop his vehicle at the location he specified, adding that the vehicle owner is allowed to operate it while it is in its location to ensure that the battery continues to work so as not to be damaged or affected as a result of a long stop during the period of confinement. .

He pointed out that the aim of the smart reservation of vehicles is to preserve them from various climate changes, and to be under the care of their owner in his home instead of seizing them in police custody yards.
