Emmanuel Macron will deliver a long-awaited speech on "separatism" on Friday, mainly targeting radical Islamism.

The President of the Republic, under pressure from the right and the far right, is expected to present several measures including a reform of the 1905 law on the separation of Church and State.

Accused of procrastinating on the subject, Emmanuel Macron presented his action plan against "separatism", mainly that of radical Islamism, on Friday, an explosive dossier in the run-up to the presidential election.

The Head of State will deliver this eagerly awaited speech at around 10:30 am at the town hall of Mureaux, in Yvelines, a town of 30,000 inhabitants about forty kilometers from Paris, presented as "a place to live together" and not "of confrontation "by its mayor François Garay (various left).

By choosing "this territory that scores points" according to the Elysee, Emmanuel Macron seeks to send a positive message on a file where he and his majority appear uncomfortable facing the crossfire of the right and the extreme right, who accuse him of laxity, and the left, which denounces a stigmatization of Muslims.

But he will speak in a context made even more burdensome by the chopper attack carried out in Paris by a young Pakistani last Friday.

Europe 1 takes stock of the expected measures.

Insist on the neutrality of public services and reform the law of 1905

Emmanuel Macron knowingly uses the plural to speak of "" separatism, so as not to appear to stigmatize this or that religion.

But in reality, the main target is well known: "Islamism is the first separatism against which to fight," said someone close to the president.

Friday morning, Emmanuel Macron will denounce "those who reveal religion to question the values of the Republic", explains the Elysee.

According to our information, it should in particular insist on the neutrality of public services.

The prefects may withdraw delegations in the event of breaches.

And even more explosive subject: the reform of the law of 1905 on the separation of Church and State.

It should thus announce the obligation to declare the source of foreign funding.

Measures on virginity certificates, towards the end of seconded foreign imams

It could also detail more controversial measures against virginity certificates issued by some doctors before a religious marriage, polygamy or the deprivation of inheritance for girls.

Emmanuel Macron should also develop the first announcements he made in February in Mulhouse on the end of seconded foreign imams.

Received Wednesday at the Elysee Palace with the other representatives of the religions, the president of the French Council of the Muslim religion (CFCM) Mohammed Moussaoui affirms "to share completely the objectives" of the text, namely to fight "against those who instrumentalize the Muslim religion for ends political ", but said to be wary of possible" collateral damage ".

Emmanuel Macron, aware that the subject is flammable, plans to answer journalists' questions at length.

A freer exercise on form and a way of trying to kill the controversies that could arise after its announcements.
