Anti-Semitic inscriptions were discovered Friday in a kosher restaurant located on rue Manin, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin denounced "revolting" images.

Anti-Semitic inscriptions were discovered Friday in a kosher restaurant in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, we learned from corroborating sources.

The fast-food restaurant, located on rue Manin where there are several kosher shops, was vandalized and "flooded", said a police source.

"The barrel of the iron curtain was fractured," she said and, according to the owner's account, "the cash register, which contained around 50 euros, was stolen".

Swastikas

Anti-Semitic inscriptions, including swastikas or "Hitler was right," were tagged on the walls, according to a video posted on Twitter.

An investigation for "racist degradation" was opened and entrusted to the Paris judicial police, said the Paris prosecutor's office.

"Solidarity with our compatriots of Jewish faith whose emotion and indignation I share," Prime Minister Jean Castex reacted on Twitter.

"The Republic will stand united in the face of hatred and will fight each of its zealots."

"We are facing a state of emergency of anti-Semitism", for her part regretted Noemie Madar, president of the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF).

"As the Charlie and Hyper Cacher trial unfold, this rampage is a sign that this anti-Semitism has not stopped and that it is still a danger, as it was a danger to go to a kosher restaurant, to shopping in a kosher store, "she added to AFP.
