"During the working meetings held, the parties discussed the results of joint work aimed at countering terrorism and extremism, as well as measures taken to investigate the circumstances of the death of Russian servicemen," the press service of the UK said.
The parties noted the great mutual work to strengthen the legitimate government in Syria and the effectiveness of interaction in the areas discussed.
In addition, attention was paid to the scientific and educational sphere, the possibilities of mutual exchange of information aimed at improving the quality of training of specialists from both countries were considered.
Bastrykin also discussed issues related to the procedural activities of Russian investigators in Syria with representatives of the Russian Embassy.
At the Russian airbase in Khmeimim, Bastrykin heard reports from investigators on the progress of the investigation of crimes committed against the Russian military in Syria.
“The results of the investigation into the circumstances of the death in August of this year of a general of the Russian army and the injury of two more servicemen were heard,” the department added.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russia's Chief Military Prosecutor Valery Petrov also visited Syria in early September.
