According to the latest Public Health France count on Friday, France has 32,155 deaths from Covid-19.

In 24 hours, 12,148 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the country.

The test positivity rate is also up slightly, to 7.7% against 7.6% Thursday and around 4% at the beginning of September.

France recorded 12,148 new cases of coronavirus detected in 24 hours, while Paris and several metropolises could go into maximum alert zone in the face of the progression of the Covid-19 epidemic, according to official figures published on Friday.

This figure is down slightly from those of Thursday, when 13,970 new cases were recorded, and Wednesday (12,845).

At least 32,155 people have died from Covid-19 since the start of the health crisis in March, i.e. 136 new deaths recorded in 24 hours, including 48 in hospital, according to figures published on Friday on the sites of Public Health France and government.

1,276 people hospitalized in intensive care

Some 1,276 people were hospitalized in intensive care in serious condition, 11 more than the day before, out of a total of 6,758 people hospitalized (+106 in 24 hours).

Over the last 7 days, 4,058 new hospitalizations were recorded.

The test positivity rate increased slightly, to 7.7%, against 7.6% Thursday and around 4% in early September.

1,246 cases of grouped contamination, or "clusters", are under investigation, including 255 in nursing homes.
