Outlook, the messaging service of the American computer giant Microsoft, experienced a global outage Thursday due to "a recent configuration update", which causes difficulties to access emails on the web and mobile versions.

"Our engineers are at work to resolve difficulties affecting our Microsoft 365 services. These services are gradually returning to normal thanks to the measures currently implemented," a Microsoft spokesperson told AFP.

According to the American site specializing in new technologies The Verge, the outage began at 0600 GMT (0200 hours on the American East Coast).

"Our initial survey indicates that users based in India are the most affected audience," Microsoft said on its dedicated Twitter account.

"We determined that a recent configuration update to the components that route user requests was the cause of the impact. We have rolled back the update and are monitoring the service for recovery," the company added. American.
