The stud farm of a warden at Borgo prison in Haute-Corse was set on fire.

This fire, probably criminal, comes after a series of similar events in July, the Force Ouvrière PACA-Corse union denounced on Wednesday in a press release.

An investigation for destruction by dangerous means was opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie, the Bastia prosecutor's office told AFP.

No animals were injured in the fire.

Intervened to ban a party

"This time, it is the personal property of an officer, in this case a stable, which was deliberately set on fire," denounces the union, which ensures that "the link with the functions of this officer at the penitentiary center of Borgo is obvious ”.

The person targeted had intervened "to prohibit festive gatherings within the penitentiary," a source close to the matter told AFP.

The union calls for an end to "this violence" and "urges the interregional directorate of prison services (DISP) in Marseille and the Directorate of the prison administration (DAP) to finally take strong measures for, from a on the one hand to restore order in this establishment and on the other hand (..) ensure the personal safety of the agents of the CP Borgo ”.
