A body adrift, at the beaches of Banc d'Arguin in Gironde, was discovered on Wednesday shortly before 7 p.m.
It was a witness at sea who gave the alert at 5:46 p.m., specifies the Etel Regional Operational Surveillance and Rescue Center (Cross).
The Cross then triggered a device made up of a rigid boat of the Arcachon firefighters and a nautical means of the coastal surveillance brigade (BSL) of the maritime gendarmerie of Lège-Cap Ferret.
"Arrived in the area at 6.11 pm, the emergency services recovered the body and repatriated it to the port of Arcachon at 8:08 pm, where it was taken care of by the national police", continues the Cross.
The identification of the body is underway to determine whether it is the 24-year-old swimmer who disappeared on September 20 on the beach of Truc Vert in Lège-Cap Ferret, near the Banc d'Arguin.
