US sanctions target individuals and 13 entities in Syria
The US Treasury Department said on its website that the United States imposed a new round of sanctions on Syria today, this time targeting six individuals and 13 entities.
The US sanctions included the Fifth Corps in the Syrian forces, and the Corps commander.
And the US State Department announced that the sanctions do not target trade and humanitarian activities in Syria
Washington is seeking to pressure the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to return to the negotiations led by the United Nations and reach an end to the civil war that began about ten years ago.
