Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that Moscow schoolchildren will go on a two-week vacation from 5 to 18 October.

“With the beginning of the school year, we see an increase in the incidence of coronavirus among children.

Against the background of a general increase in new cases of COVID-19 in Moscow, it is now important to separate children in order to minimize the risks both for themselves and for their older relatives, ”she said in an interview with TASS.

Rakova noted that a 16-day break is longer than the incubation period for coronavirus of 14 days.

“It is important to note that these are planned vacations for 64% of schoolchildren, only they will increase by one week,” she added.

In turn, the Federation Council supported the extension of vacations for schoolchildren in Moscow.
