The ministry accused the Armenian side of focusing the bombing on civilians, stressing that the Azerbaijani army had thwarted a counterattack by the Armenian forces in the Magades region.

For his part, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Turkey of providing military support to Azerbaijan, stressing the presence of Turkish military officials in Azerbaijan to direct the ongoing military operations in the Nagorno Karabakh region.

He called on the international community to condemn what he described as the aggression of Turkey and Azerbaijan, indicating that this threatens the existence of the Armenian people, according to him.

Refuse to negotiate

On his position on the negotiation, the Armenian Prime Minister said that his country is not ready to negotiate with Azerbaijan on Nagorno Karabakh with Russian auspices.

Pashinyan considered that in the midst of the violent battles taking place on the battle fronts, the talk about holding any tripartite meeting on the situation in Nagorny Karabakh is not appropriate, indicating the need to have appropriate conditions and conditions for conducting any negotiations, and that his country was always ready for a peaceful solution to the conflict in the region. On the other hand, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev denied any possibility of holding talks with Armenia regarding the Nagorno Karabakh region, and described the Armenian demands as unacceptable.

He also denied the participation of Turkish F-16 fighters (F-16) in the region's battles, and denied the presence of Syrian fighters in it.

The Azerbaijani president said that Turkey is not a party to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and that Turkish support for Azerbaijan is limited to moral support only.

Turkish support

In a related context, Al-Jazeera correspondent reported, citing sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that a telephone conversation took place between Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policies in the European Union Josep Borrell.

According to the sources, the contact discussed developments in the eastern Mediterranean and clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The Turkish Foreign Minister - in an interview with Anadolu Agency - renewed his country's full support for Azerbaijan, whether at the negotiating table or on the battlefield.

Russian interception

On the other hand, Russia said that it does not support Turkey's position expressed by its Foreign Minister Cavusoglu regarding Ankara's readiness to support Azerbaijan in the conflict over Nagorny Karabakh through diplomatic and military means.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow does not support these statements, and renews its calls to avoid adding fuel to the fire in this conflict, as he put it.

Peskov renewed his country's call on all regional states to show restraint, and the parties to the conflict in Karabakh for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

In turn, French President Emmanuel Macron said that "Turkey is carrying out propaganda for Azerbaijan, which is fond of war, and removes any obstacles in front of it for what he described as the occupation of Nagorny Karabakh again," stressing that his country will not accept that.

But Macron added that he has no evidence at the current stage of direct Turkish participation.

He said at a press conference in Latvia that he had spoken to the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, called for a ceasefire, and indicated that he would discuss the issue with Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

Iranian mediation

In a phone call, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani discussed with the Armenian Prime Minister the tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Rouhani said that the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not a solution, and it will complicate the existing problem between them, stressing that the solution to the dispute between Baku and Yerevan must be done through dialogue, and any external interference will increase the tension.

The Iranian President expressed his readiness to play a constructive role to reduce the crisis.

The Iranian Presidency website quoted the Armenian Prime Minister as welcoming any initiative to stop the violence, warning of any foreign interference in the conflict.
