  • Restrictions.Madrid says 'no' to Illa and refuses to extend the restrictions to the entire capital

The meeting of the Interterritorial Health Council has concluded

without agreement

on the measures in which Health wanted to rely to decree the closure of the municipalities most affected by the second wave of the coronavirus.

As autonomous sources have revealed to EL MUNDO, the document presented this morning by the Ministry of Health has had the vote in favor of the regions of the PSOE and the Basque Country, and the opposition of all the autonomies governed by the PP except Murcia, which has abstained, and Castilla y León, who has voted in favor.

Catalonia has also voted against.

According to sources familiar with the meeting, several regional Health Councilors, including that of Madrid, Enrique Ruiz-Escudero, have reproached Illa "that a decision of such significance cannot be made without prior technical work."

The document is now transferred to the Public Health Alerts Report precisely so that this technical work can be done.

The Health proposal was based on the

restriction of mobility

in cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants when there is an accumulated contagion rate in the last 14 days of more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, in addition to a positivity rate higher than 10 % in PCR tests and a saturation in ICUs greater than 35% in the region in which they are located.
