According to David Malpass, President of the World Bank, the international community cannot just deliver a vaccine to the airport and do nothing more.

The distribution of the vaccine is complex and requires logistics, he said in an interview with the French daily

Le Figaro

.

The World Bank has proven that it has solid experience in vaccination programs with polio, measles or in the management of the Ebola epidemic.

The 12 billion dollars, if approved by its board of directors, will allow poor countries to have rapid access to vaccines.

The goal is to be able to disburse most of this support over the next 12-18 months.

Due to the health and economic crisis caused by the pandemic, $ 45 billion, a record sum, has already been provided by the World Bank between April and June of this year.
