In the recording, which was secretly filmed by ProZippen TV in February, the party's spokesman at the time, Christian Lott, was speaking in a Berlin cafe to someone he thought was sympathetic to the challenges his party faced.

On Monday, German media announced the dismissal of Lute as an official in the party's parliamentary group.
