The local police took over.

According to initial findings, the victim was holding an electrical cable from a high voltage pylon and probably fell to the ground due to the strong winds of recent days.

The corpse of a dog lay beside the man.

The investigation will have to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.

According to the first elements collected by the police, the man was electrocuted while trying to save his dog who had himself just touched the high voltage cable.
