North Korea Launches Cyber Attack on UN Security Council Diplomats September 30, 7:39

The United Nations and diplomats are on the alert as North Korea is found to have launched a cyberattack on UN Security Council diplomats.

This was revealed in a report recently compiled by a panel of experts investigating the implementation of sanctions against North Korea set by the Security Council.

According to this, at least 6 of the Security Council member countries, a total of 11 diplomats and members of the expert panel, were sent a fake email warning that they had been attacked. It means that a "phishing email" was sent to access the site and deceive personal information.

It also reveals that there was an example of such a message being sent to the American message service "WhatsApp".

According to reports from UN member states familiar with North Korea's cyberattacks, the series of attacks appears to be the work of multiple hacker groups under North Korea's "General Reconnaissance Bureau."

He pointed out that "a relentless attack on the Security Council and the panel of experts is equivalent to evading sanctions," and said that he intended to interfere with the acquisition of information on sanctions and operations.

The United Nations Ambassador to the United Nations, Kraft, who has led the sanctions on North Korea, also accused Twitter on the 28th of "a cyber spying activity to escape the sanctions," and the United Nations and diplomats are increasing caution.
