“The Hashemite Royal Chancellery is announcing 40 days of mourning for the death of the Emir of Kuwait, Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, starting Tuesday,” the office of King Abdullah II of Jordan said on Twitter.
The king also expressed his condolences on the death of the emir.
Earlier it was reported that the emir of Kuwait, Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, who was receiving treatment in the United States, died at the age of 91.
He ruled Kuwait since January 2006.
