This Tuesday, the latest coronavirus report in France shows 31,893 dead.

In addition, there are 8,051 new cases detected over the last 24 hours. 

More than 800 new Covid-19 patients have been placed in intensive care in a week, including 165 over the last 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health France published on Tuesday.

According to health authorities, the number of resuscitation continues to increase, with 815 new patients over the last seven days, bringing the total to 1,198 currently in shifts.

In one week, 3,984 new patients were hospitalized, including 698 new patients in the last 24 hours.

8,051 cases in 24 hours

With 8,051 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in 24 hours, the test positivity rate also continues to increase, to 7.6%, against around 4% at the beginning of September.

According to Public Health France, 59 people have died in the last 24 hours - against 81 in the previous 24 hours - and 1,265 cases of grouped contamination, or "clusters", are under investigation, 72 more in 24 hours, including 244 in Ehpad.

The epidemic has killed a total of at least 31,893.

Last week, the Aix-Marseille metropolis and Guadeloupe were placed in the maximum alert zone, a classification which is accompanied by very restrictive measures (including the total closure of bars and restaurants for two weeks).

Eleven other cities, including Paris, are in an enhanced alert zone, again with restrictive measures but less than in the "maximum" zone.
