The main features of the draft budget, with an estimated turnover of almost SEK 9 billion, are about special investments in the field of education and in the elderly.

Among other things, the three parties presented an investment of SEK 15 million that will go to increased staffing in care and nursing homes.

Increased goal fulfillment

Goal fulfillment in school is another priority area and early intervention should help students, according to the chairman of the children and education committee.

- It is always important and has been important in previous budgets.

Now we press a little extra on it and put it in as a municipal council goal.

It is not just about achieving the knowledge requirements, but that all students should be able to improve their results, says Marlene Jörhag (KD).

Expenditure must be reduced

Incoming municipal councilor Jimmy Nordengren (C) said that the sustainability program that was hammered out by the municipal council in June is fixed.

On the other hand, a review has been made of planned investments that will lead to a saving of SEK 40 million.

- We are in a financial situation that is quite tough a few years ahead and then you can not build too big things.

Then we remove the investments that are not necessary and pause some.

Then there is nothing to say that we can not start those processes when it looks more lively, says Nordengren.

The general efficiencies go from the current year's SEK 276 million to SEK 70 million in the budget for 2021, excluding targeted state subsidies for schools and elderly care.
