On September 28, Russian radar stations detected two aerial targets over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, heading for the Russian border, after which a Su-27 fighter from the Baltic Fleet on duty was raised to intercept them.

"The crew of the Russian fighter identified the air targets as the US Navy P-8A Poseidon base patrol aircraft and the German Navy P-3C Orion patrol aircraft and escorted them over the Baltic Sea," TASS reports.

There was no violation of the Russian border.

Earlier, the chief of the Russian General Staff of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, in an interview with RT, said that over the past month, about 30 NATO strategic aviation aircraft flew near the borders of Russia.
