28 September 2020 The financiers of the provincial command of Catanzaro, with the collaboration of the Scico of the Guard di Finanza of Rome, coordinated by the public prosecutor of Catanzaro, have carried out seven orders for the seizure of assets worth over 55 million euros against 12 allegedly affiliated and contiguous to the Accorinti clan of Briatico, satellite of the most powerful Mancuso clan of Limbadi, in the Vibonese area.

The seized assets consist of 67 buildings, 16 land, shareholdings relating to eight companies and business complexes of seven companies operating mainly in the tourism / hotel sector, six companies operating in the construction sector, in the real estate sector, in the retail sale of fruit and vegetables and monopolies, a football sports association, four motor ships, 19 vehicles, seven buses and various banking and financial relationships.

Also seized a luxurious tourist village in Briatico, a residential complex in Zambrone, three shipping companies owning boats and a submarine used in the tourism sector to transport passengers.

The operation, called "Yellow submarine", arises from the "Costa clean" operation, launched in 2013 and which had affected local political contexts, in particular of past administrations of the municipalities of Briatico and Parghelia.

The journalist Pietro Comito also ended up in the crosshairs of the Accorinti clan because, in one of his articles, in addition to telling about the celebrations of some club leaders after the administrative elections, he had written about a councilor who had played the role of driver for a boss.

In 2018, the "Costa clean" trial ended - in the first instance - with a series of sentences, for a total of 218 years in prison, against 30 defendants.
