This spring, the university entrance exam was canceled due to the corona pandemic and now this autumn, October 25, a limited exam will be conducted.

Only persons who do not have a previously valid result may take the test and the number of places is limited to 27,600 throughout the country.

- It is clear that it is not completely optimal, but these are assessments that have been made to be able to carry out an infection-proof test, says Matilda Ernkrans (S) who is Minister of Higher Education and Research.

Karlstad University, which usually has 1,600 places on the test, will have 1,000 places this autumn.

There will be 600 in Karlstad and 400 places distributed between Arvika, Kristinehamn, Torsby and Åmål.

Risk of infection coming

Being able to avoid corona infection spreading at the time of the test will be a challenge for the country's higher education institutions.

Johan Sterte believes that the risk is quite high because people will show up for the test who are not completely healthy.

- If you have succeeded in getting a place on the university entrance exam, which not everyone who wants to will get, then I think it will take quite a lot for you to drop that place when it is a one-time opportunity as it is now during the autumn, says he.

In the video above, Johan Sterte explains how the university will try to carry out the test in an infectious way.
