China News Service, Fuzhou, September 27 (Reporter Lin Chunyin) The 10th Fujian Province Young and Middle-aged Actors Competition ended in Fuzhou a few days ago.

For the first time, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao literary and art workers who are employed by the Fujian Provincial Academy and related majors compete for the stage.

The awards of this competition are being announced on the 27th.

  Sponsored by the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the competition started on September 8 and lasted for 17 days. 727 contestants from the province participated and 379 outstanding contestants entered the final of the contest.

For the first time, this competition provided opportunities for artists from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao who were employed in Fujian Province's colleges and universities in related majors. Two Hong Kong contestants signed up for the competition, and one Taiwanese contestant entered the finals.

  The Fujian Province young and middle-aged actors competition covers opera, drama, puppets, quyi, vocal music, dance, acrobatics, Western instrumental music, national instrumental music, opera instrumental music, etc.

This year's competition is divided into two categories: "Drama and Folk Art" and "Music, Dance and Acrobatics", including 6 categories: Drama, Folk Art, Opera Instrumental and Vocal Music, Western Instrumental Music, National Instrumental Music, and Dance Acrobatics.

This competition covers 47 professional performance groups of different ownerships, of which 43 state-owned art troupes and 22 art schools, universities and secondary colleges participated.

  The organizer stated that in order to strengthen the inheritance and innovation of the performance characteristics of local dramas (qu), as well as the training of actors in characterization, the organizers of this competition encourage contestants to use the traditional classic opera (quyi) Duanzi) or original debut drama program.

Drama competitions include Peking Opera, Yue Opera, Fujian Opera, Puxian Opera, Liyuan Opera, Gaojia Opera, Taiwanese Opera (Xiang Opera), as well as Chaozhou Opera, Beilu Opera, Triangle Opera, Dacheng Opera, Meilin Opera, and Western Fujian Han Opera. There are 15 types of opera, including Longyan Mountain Opera, Gan Opera, etc., as well as drama, folk art, and puppetry.

  This event has also become an important traction for the resumption of work and production of the provincial troupes and the reopening and ticket sales of the provincial troupes and theaters. The atmosphere of dance, acrobatics, Fujian opera, Peking opera, and Yue opera was particularly enthusiastic. The fans responded with rounds of applause for the wonderful presentation of the contestants.

Various social media such as Haibo TV, Fujian Academy of Arts TikTok, and Fujian Grand Theater "Cloud Theater" will be broadcast live, allowing more theater fans to feast their eyes.

  The Fujian Young and Middle-aged Actor Competition was founded in the 1980s and is held every three years. It has been held ten times so far. It is a province-wide professional stage brand art event that covers a wide range and has important influence.
