Xinhua News Agency, Nanchang, September 27th (Reporter Li Meijuan) On the 27th, my country’s first prototype unmanned helicopter AR-500C successfully carried out a test flight at Daocheng Yading Airport, the world’s highest civil airport, and created a domestic unmanned helicopter to take off and land. With a new altitude record, it has also become the first unmanned helicopter that can successfully take off and land at Daocheng Yading Airport.

This type of high prototype unmanned helicopter was independently developed by the Chief Designer of my country's Helicopter Model Development Unit, the Aviation Industry Helicopter Design Institute located in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi.

In the morning, after the AR-500C came up from the ground, it completed hovering and slewing, maneuvering back and forth, and then landed smoothly. The data showed that the unmanned helicopter was in good condition.

Model chief Zeng Guogui introduced that this is the first plateau scientific research flight of this type of prototype unmanned helicopter. The test flight results verified that the AR-500C prototype unmanned helicopter basically has the ability to fly across the territory.

The plateau airport has high altitude, low air density and atmospheric pressure, large temperature difference between day and night, complex terrain and weather, which pose huge challenges to the flight control, flight safety and flight performance of unmanned helicopters.

To this end, the scientific research team of this aircraft has carried out the development of core content such as high-prototype engine selection and high-prototype rotor system design for AR-500C, so that its performance has been greatly improved on the basis of the prototype.

The AR-500C prototype unmanned helicopter is a prototype unmanned helicopter developed on the basis of AR-500B unmanned helicopter technology. The maximum take-off weight is 500 kg, the take-off height is 5000 meters, the service ceiling is 6700 meters, and the endurance time About 5 hours, the maximum level flight speed is 170 kilometers per hour, and the maximum cruising speed is 165 kilometers per hour.

The AR-500C prototype unmanned helicopter has a wide range of application development capabilities. The installation of corresponding equipment can perform tasks such as search support, security and fire protection, forest fire protection, and material delivery.
