Rezunov was placed under house arrest until November 17.

He was charged under Part 4 of Art.

264 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Violation of the traffic rules, resulting in the death of a person by negligence, committed by a person in a state of intoxication, associated with leaving the place of its commission").

On September 21, the vice-governor of the Bryansk region announced his decision to resign after a fatal accident involving his son in the center of Bryansk.

On September 18, a car driven by Maxim Rezunov crashed into a car standing at an intersection, which collided with oncoming traffic from the impact.

The driver died in the hospital.

Rezunov refused to be examined for intoxication.
