China News Service, September 26. According to the US "World Journal" report, due to the low level of participation in the census, the San Francisco City Council has recently joined forces with multiple community groups to launch a "Census Action Week" (Census Week of Action) for the final sprint.

On the 25th, many municipal officials and representatives of the overseas Chinese community held an event at Chinatown Garden Corner Plaza, calling on the public to participate in the census as soon as possible.

Participants at the event included San Francisco City Administrator Naomi Kelly, City Councillor Aaron Peskin, Director General Li Dianbang of the Chinese Association, and Chen Jiemin, Chairman of Donghua Hospital.

Kelly expressed the hope that everyone will unite in the event, and all parties will work together to promote this census statistics to ensure that San Francisco can obtain a share of federal funding.

Kelly also especially wore a mask with the Chinese characters "All districts of San Francisco participate in the census."

Elderly self-help office, Northeast Medical Center, Asia Pacific American Committee, Chinatown YMCA and other community organizations are all dispatched to help the elderly residents of Chinatown participate in the count.

Representatives from the Northeast Medical Center have a booth at the scene to help the elderly register.

Due to the epidemic, partitions were also set up on the booth to reduce the risk of infection.

The end time of the current census has not yet been finalized, but San Francisco officials are still waiting, stepping up time to call for public participation.

Adrienne Pon, the administrative director of the Municipal Civil Affairs and Immigration Office, said that the final sprint will still be carried out under emergency conditions.

The latest figures show that the self-response rate of the city's census in San Francisco is 65.6%, down from 68.5% ten years ago.

The event will go to the Bay Scenic Area and Mission District on the weekend two days, and then a rally will be held in the City Hall on September 29.
