Denis Tillinac died one year to the day after the former President of the Republic, did not fail to highlight many political figures who paid tribute to him.

One year, to the day, after the disappearance of Jacques Chirac, I am sad to learn that of his great friend Denis Tillinac.

I want to salute the Gaullist, the man of loyalty and the writer deeply attached to the land who had seen him be born and whom he knew so well how to relate

», Writes Prime Minister Jean Castex on Twitter.

Denis Tillinac loved Corrèze, rugby, the life of yesteryear that he sang in spleen in his books.

He loved Jacques Chirac and Bonaparte.

Because he claimed to be a patriot

”, reacts in a press release François Hollande, also former President of the Republic and attached to Corrèze.

“

But above all he liked to write as a journalist, then as an author he knew how to share his passions.

We didn't have the same ideas but we could have the same feelings

”.

Known for his commitments to the right, Denis Tillinac was first Chiraquian before becoming a Sarkozyst.

In February 2004, he described himself as an “

unrepentant Chiraquian

” but called for not falling into “

anti-sarkozysme

”.

That he defies Chirac with a certain ostentation, it is a fact, and with the approach of the capital deadlines, if it is necessary to defend Chirac against Sarkozy, I will do it

 ", he assured.

However, Denis Tillinac asserted that “

France needs intrepid politicians

”.

In some ways (not all)

,

Sarko reminds me of the happy 40-year-old hussar let loose on the Millevaches plateau.

The same vital energy

, ”he continued, alluding to Jacques Chirac's beginnings in Corrèze.

In 2012, he tried to convince Marine Le Pen to vote for Nicolas Sarkozy during the presidential election, in an open letter, and reconciled the fate of Marine Le Pen and that of Nicolas Sarkozy, "

as you harassed and despised by the media system -world that you rightly denounce

 ”.

For Valérie Pécresse, ex-LR and president of the Ile-de-France Region, “

it's a shock, an immense sadness

”.

“

Your panache, your love of France, your loyalty will be so missed,

 ” she tweeted.

Forever Chiracian, we shared so many wonderful memories.

A man of talents, of great culture, warm and faithful, I am losing today a very dear friend

, ”reacts Christian Jacob, president of the Republicans.

François Bayrou, president of Modem, describes him as "

a warm and passionate spirit, in love with his land, his country and his language

".

It "

will be sorely missed at a certain idea of France and freedom of thought

," he writes.
