US President Donald Trump is willing to nominate 7th Federal High Court Judge Amy Connie Barrett to replace the deceased US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Vader Ginsburg, CNN reported.

CNN quoted several senior Republican sources that the White House has expressed its willingness to nominate Judge Baron in dialogue with some of the top Republicans in Congress.

CNN reported that these sources said there is always the possibility of changing their minds at the last minute until President Trump actually makes an announcement, but expects Barrett to be chosen.

President Trump is due to officially announce a candidate for the Federal Supreme Court on the afternoon of the 26th.

Judge Barrett is known to be the only candidate Trump has interviewed in person.

Judge Barrett is a former secretary of the late Supreme Justice Antonin Scalia.

Born in 1972, he served as a professor at his alma mater, Notre Dame University.

Barrett, a devout Catholic, is known for his conservative opposition to abortion.

Judge Barrett was known to have been in the army until the end of President Trump's nomination of Judge Brat Caberno as the Supreme Court of Justice in 2018.

President Trump told his aides that he was "saving Judge Barrett for his Ginsburg successor," the internet media Axios reported in March last year.

While President Trump has announced that he has compressed five female candidates, the 11th Federal High Court Judge Barbara Lagoa, along with Judge Barrett, and the 4th Federal High Court Judge Allison Jones Rushing, have been cited as strong candidates.
