During Friday, there has been a lot of movement in the city when climate protesters and lunch visitors took over central Umeå.

Both the climate organization Fridays for Future and UmePride had demonstrations on Friday and during the weekend.

Pride solved the corona restrictions by having a digital event while Fridays for Future lined up its audience in rows with proper distance from each other.

Cultural events for limited audiences

During the week, concerts are also arranged on Rådhustorget, but only for 50 visitors, in a separate tent.

- To a large extent, it is for the artists themselves, so that they get their live stage back, all ticket revenues go in full to the artists, says Martin Lindfors, center manager at Visit Umeå.

Martin Lindfors says about the corona restrictions and how it has affected the cultural industry:

- It is a knife-edge that you go on, especially now that the spread of infection has increased, but I understand the frustration of cultural organizers when you can experience that there are slightly different interpretations of rules.
