More than 150 residents evacuated after collapse of river embankment in Mon State, Myanmar

  Affected by continuous rains for several days, the Gathongbao River in Mudong Township, Mon State, Myanmar collapsed on September 24, local time. At present, more than 150 residents in the affected area have been evacuated with the help of rescuers. Fortunately, no personnel were caused casualties.

  According to the Myanmar Meteorological Department, the local continuous rainfall was affected by Typhoon Hongxia.

Typhoon Hongxia caused strong winds and waves and continuous rainfall in many provinces and states of Myanmar. From September 17 to 22, the four provinces and states of Mon, Delinday, Bago and Ayeyarwady have about 2,600. More than 10,000 people were affected by the disaster.
