A news report revealed that it was decided once again to reduce the number of fans allowed to attend the French Open tennis matches (Roland Garros), to only 1,000, in light of the new Corona virus pandemic, according to what was quoted by the office of French Prime Minister Jean Castex yesterday, Thursday.

The increasing numbers of infected people in France and the capital, Paris, prompted officials to announce last week that 5,000 fans would be allowed to attend per day during the tournament, which will be held between next Sunday and 11 next month.

This number was less than half the number permitted 3 weeks ago (11,500 fans), noting that the tournament organizers were initially planning to attend 20,000 fans per day.

It should be noted that the French Open is the second Grand Slam tournament to be held during the Corona crisis, and the US Open (Flushing Meadows) was held without fans attending in New York.
