In early September, the county administrative board revoked the building permit for a mosque at Rud in Karlstad. The reason was that there was a lack of sufficient parking spaces. But now the Technical and Real Estate Board in Karlstad intends to sign a ten-year agreement on parking spaces, which would solve the parking problem and mean that a new building permit application for a mosque on Rud can be submitted.
But the chairman of the city planning committee, Erik Nilsson (KD), who voted against a mosque on Rud, now suggests that a ten-year parking agreement is not enough.
Instead, he claims that Karlstad municipality's policy is to strive for 25-year parking agreements.
In the clip, you hear more from Erik Nilsson (KD) and also a comment from Rauf Ahmadi who is chairman of the Islamic Cultural Association.
