China News Service, United Nations, September 24. Ambassador Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, exercised his right of reply at the Security Council’s "Maintaining International Peace and Security: Global Governance after the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic" video summit on the 24th, refuting the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Malicious attacks on the United Nations and China.

Zhang Jun said that in their speeches, most of the Security Council members called for adhering to multilateralism and strengthening solidarity and cooperation, which reflects the general consensus of the international community.

Regrettably, the US representative once again made noise that was incompatible with the atmosphere of the meeting.

China firmly opposes and rejects the unreasonable accusations made by the US.

The United States abuses the platforms of the United Nations and the Security Council to continue spreading "political viruses", spreading false information, and creating opposition and division.

Such actions not only cannot disperse the virus, but have also greatly interfered with the global unity of fighting the epidemic.

Zhang Jun said that the sudden outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, China was the first to suffer.

The timeline for China to respond to the epidemic is clear.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people are united in the fight against the epidemic, and the tremendous sacrifices and efforts they have made are obvious to all.

China's important contribution to the global fight against the epidemic is recognized worldwide.

Zhang Jun pointed out that the United States should understand three things.

First, the United States' failure to respond to the epidemic was entirely self-made.

The United States has the most advanced medical technology and the most complete medical system in the world. Why has it become the country with the largest number of diagnoses and deaths?

Many countries that have outbreaks in parallel with the United States have effectively controlled the epidemic. Why can't the United States do this?

The statistics published by the United States itself show that minority ethnic groups in the United States have higher infection rates and death rates, which are not commensurate with their population proportions. Why?

What is the root cause?

Some politicians in the United States should give honest answers to these questions before blaming others.

If anyone is responsible for this, it should be some politicians in the United States.

Second, accuse others of not being able to solve your own problems.

Every country will encounter problems in the development process, and they should first solve them through their own efforts.

Relying on the transfer of responsibility, "lie, deceive, and steal" not only does not help, but can only go further and further down the wrong path.

What the United States has to do now is to stop political manipulation, abandon the labeling and politicization of the virus, focus its mind and energy on fighting the domestic epidemic, and support the United Nations and the World Health Organization to play their due role.

Third, big countries should look bigger.

The world today is faced with numerous challenges, and major powers bear special responsibilities on their shoulders.

The United States has always claimed to be a "force for good" and must play a leading role in international affairs.

Like other countries, China sincerely welcomes the United States to make important contributions to world peace and human progress.

To be a leader, one must lead by example, be committed to promoting international cooperation, and make tangible contributions to human progress.

Rather than engaging in exceptionalism, arbitrarily "breaking contracts" and "withdrawing from the group", and drifting outside the global governance system; rather than arbitrary sanctions and pressure, creating opposition and division, engaging in hegemony, bullying, hegemony, and bringing the world into chaos or even war Disaster; instead of blindly seeking self-interest, pursuing monopoly advantage, or even using state power to obstruct other countries’ development and technological progress.

Zhang Jun said that China hopes that the United States will return to the track of mutual respect and win-win cooperation with other countries as soon as possible, and assume its due responsibility for world peace and prosperity.

This meeting is one of a series of high-level meetings for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. It was initiated by the United Nations Security Council's rotating presidency of Niger in September.

Niger President Isufou, leaders and representatives of the member states of the Security Council, UN Secretary-General Guterres and African Union Commission Chairman Faki attended the meeting.
