This is about nine hectares of forest that will now provide space for waste from Skoghallsbruket.

The forest is owned by Stora Enso and is planned as an industrial area.

According to the company, the waste is not environmentally hazardous, but the neighbors to the forest think that it has a negative effect on their living environment.

Magdalena Ottosson lives nearby and she does not look forward to the forest where she and her family usually live in now being replaced by a high "black earth".

Stora Enso's environmental manager, Margareta Sandström, for her part, believes that the impact for the residents in the area will be small and that the landfill will be obscured behind a piece of forest.

For the plan to become a reality, Stora Enso must first obtain a permit in accordance with the Environmental Code and the landfill needs to be completed in 2023 at the earliest.
