According to Peru’s “Gazette”, Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra delivered a speech at the high-level commemorative meeting of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations on the 22nd local time, stating that he will be held on July 28, 2021. On the day of Peru’s 200th anniversary of independence, Japan retired and transferred power to his successor.

The successor will be elected in the general election to be held on April 11, 2021.

  In his speech, Vizcarra pointed out that he had faced "all kinds of critical situations" during his tenure, and emphasized that his response to these situations was "made on the basis of the Constitution."
