Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said his team is "developing" and it is difficult for German Mesut Ozil to work his way into the starting line-up.

Ozil has not participated in Arsenal's matches since the competition resumed after the suspension period due to the Corona pandemic, and he missed Arsenal's first 3 matches in the new season, knowing that his contract expires next June.

"The team is developing and you can see the level we have reached. We want to develop more and play better so we have to maintain that," Arteta said after winning the 2-0 win over Leicester City in the League Cup on Wednesday.

"I try to choose the squad that, in my opinion, is in the best position. We choose the players that we believe are the best for each match, and you can see that because of the continuous change in the squad," he added.

"You can see ... entering the squad is very difficult, not only for Masoud, but for other players. We try to choose the right players every week," he added.

Arsenal will play Liverpool next Monday in the climax of the fourth stage of the Premier League matches.
