- I published a post on Facebook regarding the cake we received from Region Västernorrland for our work during the pandemic, says Sofia Kraft.

She is very disappointed.

A cake is not exactly what she thinks is a reward enough for the hard work she and her co-workers have done in recent months.

- In one region, employees received SEK 4,000 per month in a corona ward.

On another, they received SEK 500 per work shift, she says.

Unpopular gifts

This is not the first time that staff gifts at Sundsvall Hospital have ended up in bad weather.

During the summer, healthcare employees were able to participate in a fruit basket lottery as a thank you for coping with a tough work period.

Six baskets were drawn and the winner would share the fruit with his colleagues.

The care association's representatives classified the whole thing as a mockery and the regional director regretted that it had gone wrong but said that the idea had been good.

Now the management can add cake to the list of gifts that are not appreciated.
