Putin recalled the corresponding proposal in his speech at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the proposal on green corridors in the current conditions is very important, because "the situation in the world is now dangerous and very difficult."

“A small virus was able to bring all world powers to their knees, and if states do not cooperate, they will not be able to successfully get out of this trouble,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The minister noted that the United States is waging economic wars against Russia, Iran and China, and is also putting pressure on even its allies.

As an example, he cited the US policy towards the Nord Stream 2 project.

“Therefore, in such conditions, Putin's proposal for green corridors is very good and, in fact, is tantamount to getting rid of trade wars, and even wars related to medicines and food, in an environment where the coronavirus is a serious threat to the world,” Zarif said.

On March 26, at the G20 summit, Putin called for the creation of sanctions-free green corridors and proposed a moratorium on restrictions that would make it difficult for countries to supply essential goods.

At the end of April, the Russian side offered the OSCE to study the president's initiative to create green corridors.
