The Eiffel Tower Exploitation Company (SETE) has joined forces with an estate, located in Versailles, to install a wine cellar on the first floor of the monument.

Not many people know it, but the Eiffel Tower produces wine!

On Thursday, visitors to the Iron Lady will also be able to witness the bottling of the first cuvée from the tower cellar, reports the Konbini site.

So of course, no vines on the upper floors, but the Société d'Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE) has joined forces with a domain, located in Versailles.

And a year ago, a winemaking cellar was installed on the first floor.

A new cuvée in preparation

"To discover a part of French gastronomy while promoting local viticulture and short circuits", this is the objective of the providers of one of the most visited monuments in the world.

On Konbini, the Managing Director of SETE, Patrick Branco-Ruivo, describes this wine as "a single varietal made from Merlot".

And to add: "The color is red and deep, the nose reveals aromas of fresh fruits and black cherries crowned by a note of spices".

But this wine is only available in very small quantities, with only 300 bottles priced at 80 euros.

But a new cuvée is already in preparation.
