24 September 2020 The Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, summoned the heads of delegation of the majority forces to the Government and some economic ministers, including the head of the Mef, Roberto Gualtieri and the Minister of Economic Development, Stefano Patuanelli in the afternoon.

At the center of the meeting is the 5G dossier, the first issue that the Prime Minister puts on the executive table, the day after the vote.

A burning issue not only in relation to the government's projects on the single network and telecommunications, with the possible contribution of the Recovery Fund, but also in view of the next visit to Rome by the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

The majority heads of delegation are invited to the meeting at Palazzo Chigi and it is not excluded that there will be more general discussion of the government agenda.

Tim meets CDP and operators

Regarding the single network, last Monday a meeting was held between the CEO of Tim, Luigi Gubitosi, that of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Fabrizio Palermo, and the leaders of the alternative operators, namely Aldo Bisio, CEO of Vodafone Italia, Jeffrey Hedberg, CEO of WindTre and Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Sky Italia.

The latter said they were in favor of the single network project, hoping that "it could develop in a manner consistent with the premises, giving rise to an operator that is not vertically integrated, and therefore capable of guaranteeing conditions of neutrality and independence with respect to all operators" .

Meanwhile, President of Open fiber Franco Bassanini in a tweet reiterates its position. "I think that a single network, independent, wholesale only, all fiber, it would be useful for the country.

If it could not be done, then it is better to continue with infrastructural competition "he clarifies.
